Geographic distribution patterns of species of the subtribe Lychnophorinae (Asteraceae: Vernonieae)

چکیده

Abstract With 119 species distributed in 19 genera, most of the subtribe Lychnophorinae are endemic to Espinhaço Range central eastern Brazil. This region is characterized especially by campos rupestres, a grassland mosaic associated with vegetation on rock outcrops, which display high level endemism. The present work aims identify distribution patterns, collection density, richness and research bias collections. Ten geographic patterns were identified: Chapada Diamantina, dos Veadeiros adjacent mountains, Pico da Aliança, Extension Range, Central-South Arc Minas Gerais, Brasília Arc, Campos Rupestres Restinga, Diamantina Caatinga, Northwest-Southeast Diagonal East Triangle. Other Angiosperm families similar distribution, mainly Meridional, where higher collecting efforts present. Species sites intensity, however, northeast Goiás shows opposite pattern. Spearman correlation analysis strong between density richness, an exponential asymptotic model that quite significant for total variation richness. cluster presented five clusters correlated Lychnophorinae.

Cytotaxonomic studies in six species of Vernonia (Asteraceae: Vernonieae)

In this report, we describe a mitotic analysis (Giemsa technique) of six species of the genus Vernonia sensu Baker (Asteraceae, Vernonieae, section Lepidaploa) in order to assess the validity of maintaining this genus (sensu Baker) or dividing it into several lesser genera (sensu Robinson). Specimens of the seven species were collected in “cerrado” and “campo rupestre” areas in the states of Sã...

Comprehensive untargeted metabolomics of Lychnnophorinae subtribe (Asteraceae: Vernonieae) in a phylogenetic context

Members of the subtribe Lychnophorinae occur mostly within the Cerrado domain of the Brazilian Central Plateau. The relationships between its 11 genera, as well as between Lychnophorinae and other subtribes belonging to the tribe Vernonieae, have recently been investigated upon a phylogeny based on molecular and morphological data. We report the use of a comprehensive untargeted metabolomics ap...

A new species of Camchaya (Asteraceae, Vernonieae) from Thailand

Camchaya thailandica Bunwong, Chantar. & S.C.Keeley, sp. nov. from Phu Phrabat Historical Park, Udon Thani, Thailandis described as a new species. Plant of this new species are similar to Camchaya gracilis (Gagnep.) Bunwong & H.Rob. but differ in having ovate phyllaries without margin spines, 10-ribbed achenes, and broadly ovate leaves. This species is a rare endemic known only from the type co...

Pantoporate pollen in the Asteraceae (Vernonieae)

Pantoporate pollen, which occurs sporadically in the Monocots and Dicots, has now been found in Asteraceae in two apparently related genera of the tribe Vernonieae, Polydora Fenzl and Oocephala H.Rob. Disposition of pores in Polydora seems more asymmetric than in Oocephala. Based on the known relationships within the Vernonieae, some conjectures are made regarding development of the pantoporate...

Cytotaxonomy of two species of genus Chrysolaena H. Robinson, 1988 (Vernonieae, Asteraceae) from Northeast Paraguay

Chromosome counts and karyotypes of two species of Chrysolaena H. Robinson 1988 are presented in this paper. Mitotic analysis revealed that both taxa have x=10, a basic chromosome number considered characteristic of the genus. The chromosome number and the karyotype of Chrysolaena cristobaliana are reported for the first time, as well as a new cytotype and the karyotype of Chrysolaena sceptrum....
